Children & Youth
Youth in grades 6 to 9 meet each Wednesday at 6 p.m. with our Youth Ministers, Drew and Jennifer Boatman. Activities include playing games, eating (usually pizza), Bible study, and a discussion of various aspects of faith and living as a young Christian today.
St. John’s youth also have special outings (in August we had a blast at Hawaiian Falls) and annual weekends at Camp All Saints on Lake Texoma. The next camp weekend is in October. Call the church office for details and registration
Children and youth are a vital part of our church. We have boys and girls serving as acolytes in our Sunday worship services each week, and a bi-monthly “Youth Leadership Sunday” where they step into other roles in the service.
A nursery is provided at the 10:00 service so that active infants and toddlers (ages 0 to 3) can play while their parents worship. Children who go to the nursery are returned to the church to join their parents for communion. Parents are also welcome to keep their little ones in church during the 8:00 or 10:00 service.
Children ages 4 to 10 are invited to “Children’s Chapel” at the 10:00 service. This is a specially designed worship for children which includes a Bible story, prayers, singing, and a craft activity. Children rejoin their parents at the peace.
